No Mirrors on the Ceilings

For a start the ceilings are so high that you would need very good eyesight to get your reflections! opp's too much information.

No never!

No .... it's because the ceilings are just so dam drop dead gorgeous that ones own reflection would simply just pail into insignificance.

 

 

 

French Influences

The French left Morocco in the early 1950's from what we have been hearing when we chat with the locals but still today French is widely spoken and the French restaurants are also everywhere.

I organised to have the entire roof terrace looking over the Atlantic Ocean as our anniversary location for a romantic lunch.

  Our terrace's view is back over to the walls of the Old Medina.

One beautiful lady taking in the privacy of our own terrace ... or was it just a slow day and no one else was here ... yet !!! or does the food suck and now we are here ... alone!

with no possible way to escape.

  

If the drinks are anything to go by lunch could be as sour as Sands Mojito or a sweet as my Cosmopolitan.

So let's stick it out ... take one for the team!

 

  So French ... Foie Gras to share with some luscious dried fruits

   A Chateaubriand to share also with a little local red 

 
 Plus some Moroccan French Fries
Food Fusion at it's best!

Camels on the Beach

Need to see a camel so its to the end of the Old Medina and a 30min walk along the water front to the beach. Today the wind god's are with us and it is just a soft breeze.

Won't be going on a ride as I still have sore bottom memories of times past!

The guys are out everywhere and sidle up to you like its a drug deal.

"Sir" said in a soft alluring voice "would you like to pat my camel" hmmm shookran no, but thanks for the offer!,
Beside I have only just meet you and I'm sure your camel is lovely!! but it will end up just being a very short relationship.
There will be at first a little touch, a flirtation and it will then be a picture (oh and how we would have laughed as the sun warmed our bodies) the relationship will have to come to an end as I don't want to ride your big hairy hard camel! 
We will have to go our separate ways, there may be some tears.

 BUT there will have to be an end to this new relationship. A separation and a messy divorce, finally their will have to be a dividing of my assets.
It won't be win win, all I will have is a sore bottom and an empty pocket.

Parlour Palms in their Natural Environment!

31 Year's

Can you believe it, today is our 31st wedding anniversary.

Its another room change but this time in the same hotel.

Moving down a floor to room 1-2 Mahajabian Suite.

Words can not describe this place, it is cheaper than the last room at a cost of only $78.00 a night including breakfast.

This Riad is the cheapest place we have stayed but truly the most exquisite. Most of the rooms we have stayed in Morocco have been around $180 to $250 so this a real gem of a find Sands.

Now we are talking, Sandy's other colour love apart from purple.

Is the whole black/white/silver and bling thing.

 

 

 

 Best of all it comes with her own little plaything on the end of the bed!

Arabic Words

Trying as much as possible to learn a few Arabic words to be polite, so have my little queue card in my pocket.

 

 

A greeting first is always a good thing and we have been given the royal treatment thanking us for trying to speak some Arabic.

Sell arm oh ally coom.

Totally my break up procuration so I get it close to right!!

 

But the "A Fruk a Tennie" meaning "please may I have" ... doesn't mean can I please have in Auzzie "just a little goodtime"!!!!

 

This was a bit of a challenge to say correct and not giggle.

So it's Furk as in Arck means "please"

Then the Thankyou its like in "Chook run" not Shock Ran as I have it above... so still learning.

Anyway with hand on heart as you greet someone they know what you are trying to say and as it is a greeting from the Quran they are so grateful for the blessing that you are treated so nice back.
