Lamb's Lettuce Salad and Chestnut Honey

We call it lamb's lettuce, don't know why, we just do!

 Italians don't seem to have a name for it but we love it and always have it when we are in Italy.
So now we want to see if we can get it in Australia.

Beth your Mission ... have you seen this in Sydney at any of your little vege shops?

 Goes well with pears, rocket, parmesan cheese and a dressing of chestnut honey, lemon and olive oil.

Chestnut honey, very Italian and has a dark bitter taste so not good on your toast ... but great in your salads.

Sandy's version would be to cook up all the rest first and add the broccoli last to keep it green and crisp, but when in Rome!

French or Italian

Grab a can of Italian Butter, hmmm butter in a can!

Cream and eggs

 Find an Italian dark corner, get Daniele to turn up the 60' - 70's music vibe, serve on red plates with retro overhead lighting and discuss if it's French or Italian and if real men eat it!!

 

 

 

Pasta & Vino

Our two favourite isles in the supermarket.

The pasta isle stretch as far as the eye can see!

  

 Better still the vino isles stretch as far as the eye can see and then up and down several more isles. A great afternoon out walking off the calories before you start to drink!!!

Nooooo I'm in Italy and only so many days to try so many varieties.

My Kind Of Italian Communication

Love the simple signs that truly have a international recognition. 

 

 But it was this sign that makes you smile

First 3 yep got them, but always fun to try!

Next 3 hmmm don't shower in the loo, don't drop one from too high!

Maybe don't propose or spend too much time!

Fishing ... again don't take too much time?
