After our 10 day Caribbean cruise and before we sail away on the same ship in our same room for part two which is a 20 day cruise from Fort Lauderdale into Mexico and up to Vancouver.
We have one day in Fort Lauderdale to explore, we were hoping for longer here but our flights and cruice time just didnt align so what better way to see such a large area than to do a water taxi for the day taking in the sights up the canals.

OK yesterday in Key West I mentioned the Mega Rich Yachts and Mega Rich Condos … WELL apparently they are the poor southerns.
This is where to MEGA RICH YACHTS are and you don't live in a Mega Rich Condo
YOU HAVE A MEGA EXPENSIVE MANSION
🤑 💰 🤑 💰 🤑
This is not a collection of town houses … its just one home with a price tag in excess of 150 Million Ausie$
This stunner hugging a corner block with its double height double columns entertaining ballroom.
For a cool 100 million our friend Bill … that’s Bill Gates … has his “chaser” water garage parked in the marina.
This is the one that follows behind his REAL Yacht with all the toys you might need on a day out like a helicopter, several smaller speed boat ect ect this is always fully staffed just waiting for someone to go and play … feeling very poor today 😂
This one and 100’s like it can be rented for serious $. This one cost around a Million Aussie a week + petrol + staff + food and as its in America + 20% Tip
Can’t even afford the tip! Ouch
Apparently when you buy in this league of Mansion you don't live in a second hand mansion … you knock down a perfectly good 120 Million one and build new … as you do …
Real waste of the Real Rich!
OK enough of the disgusting waste up stream!
let’s head to the old section where this little number is still standing and in its day was the tallest sky scraper on the canal. It was build by General Motors for staff events and depicts a time when this part of the canal was available for the general population to be able to enjoy.
This 1960’s bachelor pad with it’s glass floors to view into the canal where apparently super models were paid to dress in mermaid out fits and swim for the entertainment of the
googled eyed men upstairs.
Could see the likes of Austin Powers here.
Groovy Baby!
And for me … a true 1950’s holiday house … I still can’t afford to live in it! …
Today was a fun day looking at some truly amazing houses and being told so many stories from the captain and his right hand man…
Fact and or fiction 😂
Now these poor aussie tourists need to catch a Uber back to The Everglades Pier 19 where 2000 people are on one boat grab a martini and enjoy the sun set
