Nezignan-I’Eveque - to Le St Barth Tarbouriech

For lunch today we drove on very narrow little roads in places only wide enough for bikes some 20km to the south coast of France from Nezignan-I’Eveque to the little eatery of
Le St Barth Tarbouriech.
With wheat crops on one side and grapes growing the other.
It is warming up and 26 degrees was the top temp today but with a cooling breeze coming off the lagoon Etang de Thau.

It is basically a timber shack where you get to eat just caught prawns, mussel and oysters.
It was recommended to us by our hotel as where the locals eat.

You walk through the shack and straight away you are drawn out onto the original timber walkways that the fisherman still use today to bring in their collections and catches.

The water was crystal clear as they are so far away from
built up areas.

In the distance you can see the mussel and oyster racks.

Mussels steamed in wine “but of course” said in my best French accent with onion, garlic and herbs simple and fabulous .

My beautiful Sandy opted for the prawns with garlic sauce.

All just so quiet and what a peaceful haven it was.
