We did a wine tasting at Cote Mas owner is Paul Mas and one of his labels that us Aussies know is the
Arrogant Frog!
Meet Eve, he was our waiter assigned for todays wine tasting experience, we were so lucky to have had a personal introduction to the Paul Mas vineyards from a wine friend in Tasmania who lived locally here for a few years.
So we got hooked up as the Aussies wanting to try some French wine and they all looked after us so well …
Hence the little snooze that was needed in the carpark!!!
Wow what a great wine tasting, we got to try 8 wines all within a 30km radius … which in itself is amazing.
White, Reds and Rose and just so different from what
they send to Australia,
I may have to apply to be a distributor of the more unusual wines … not just what Mr Dan thinks us Aussie want!!
There were a few real stand outs and this cheeky little white was a real favourite for my cheeky little Sandy.
A blend of Sauvignon Blanc & Vermention.
And for me this quite complex blend and it was
described on the label as …
Grenache Blanc in its voluptuousness,
Roussannein in its refinement,
Vermentino in its suave,
Flavours of Viognier in its full expression.
From such a marriage made in heaven may the quintessence of their charm touch you with some delicious pleasures.
And touched I was … before I even read the label!
But for those who really know us know that a big red
is where it is at for us both.
We were not disappointed, Eve saved the best till last and at 15% it was just so smooth and opulent, the tannins were now restrained and if I could get a case I would put them down for another 5 years.
But it will just have to stay in the memory as one of
those great taste.
Syrah & Grenache Noir
