Getting a bit tipsy in Calistoga

We have just worked out how we can nearly afford to get nearly tipsy in the Napa Region. Find a great little Mexican restaurant, turn up for happy hour that way the drinks are half price so now it’s only double what we would pay back home. We thought San Fran was a bit xxxy but Napa is off the charts… but the more you drink and laugh with the locals the less pain it is when you are paying the bill.

But when you are drinking such superb Napa red wine all is forgiven and after all thats what we are here to experience … the best Napa has to offer and for our palettes this Bennett Lane 2020 Maximus is a winer. What an amazing red 61% Cab Sauv, 13% Syrah, 8% Cab Franc, 6% Merlot, 5% Malbec, 4% Petite Sirah &3% Petit Verdot … now thats a blend, real smooth and a little to easy to drink!

Up till now I was not such a big fan of Mexican food mostly because in Tamworth they are more on the fast food side.

But now Pacifico has converted me so watch out Mexican restaurants. As you can see in the pic we started with a Pine Ridge Chenin Blanc - Viogner for Sandy and I the Negra Modelo nice beer, sort of malaise cream and not too much carbonation. 

Had the Chicken Quesadilla … Yummo … super tasty the chicken was roasted and then stewed with capsicum and spices.

Followed by pulled pork soft tacos.

 

We swayed our way home 2 happy little chappies 🥴 🍷
