So our fast train trip was great, but a wee bit hard to see the views at a zillion miles an hours!
What I can say is that we are now in a hire car driving in the countryside in the South of France.
In the South of France has a nice ring to it!!!
Still a bit challenging but generally driving goodish on the other side of the road … but not so good at reading the
road signs all in “French”! 🧐
Oh well, we will just have to rely on the GPS,
As she speaks perfect English!
Only driving about 50 km south west of Avignon to a small cluster of old houses a few kms from the little town of Dions.
We are having a 2 day holiday away from all the stresses of travelling!
Good pool, good food, good book and not going anywhere.
The small town is 600 people and we are staying at
I think I’m turning Japanese,
I think I’m turning Japanese,
I really think so … bar bapa bar bapa bar…
sing along, you all know the words of the song from the 1980’s.
Great lounge to read those books and just chill out.
Said pool real nice!
Zucchini strips cured in lemon with sesame seed and oil.
Oh and the eggplant … Sandy got the recipe for that,
it was soooooo mouth watering.
Chicken tonkatsu with potato flour crust,
pickled red cabbage and a egg mayo with home made
“French Mustard”
French Fusion Bit!
Home made miso soup, another one of my favs.
Potato soup made with dried scollop dashi.
Big wow wow from me … super yummy
Great wine and the views over the tops of the trees, it is just so quiet after being in Lyon. We are in the last house and there is no one around except the young Japanese lady
who is hosting us.
Got the place all to our selves.
Our bedroom is on the ground floor of her 1947 villa.
A tiramisu (a little bit Italian!) with shochu and matcha and a sweet yozu frozen curd to finish.
Not normally a matcha fan but it work and added great flavour.
NICE DIGS!!!!!!!!!!!!! and the food sounds SCUMPTIOUS (Loving Japanese cuisine probably helps towards that).

After-all “It’s the South of France” I 💚 love my Friends, nephews and nieces but I need to spend some of their inheritances first 😂
Peter, Peter, Peter! "DIGS" is slang for "accommodation". Has nothing to do with friends, nephews and nieces.
