The door on the other side of the tunnel is where we first meet Doriano back in 2013. This was when we got the “big people mover stuck”! and tonight we are invited for dinner with the family in the cantina.
Our current little Fiat would have got through without a hitch, ohh and the fact that my driving and reversing skills on the wrong side of the road has improved a tad.
Still a tight squeeze and when you see all the locals cars that have been “sideswiped and trimmed” to fit into many a tight location … Well this little duck won’t be risking the insurance waver on the new Fiat and her pretty paint job so we opted to park her outside the walls of the ancient Piobbico Castello tunnel and walked in.
Doriano’s Cantina is under the main house and further below the timber arch is where the stash of home made prosecco, vino roso and bianca and some tomatoes are stored.
Ohh … The cool air and the musky smell of the lower cave brings back so many happy memories.
Was such a great night!
Oh, if those walls could talk!!!! The cantina looks like the warmest most loving place for family and friends to be. Happy for you❤️
