Campanacci - Farm Dinner

 Tonight as there is still of chance of a little more rain dinner will be served in the outdoor covered barn.

In the past we have found that Italians are not big fans of the rain and IF there is the slightest chance they all go indoors!!!

The barn is all a bit too Italian cute and quite rustic, just loved the whole space and ambiance.

Starter was a cucumber gazpacho, refreshing and cool after the hot and humid day that it was.

 Then the pasta course of spinach ravioli filled with parmesan cheese and a butter sauce … This is the first butter we have seen in Italy this trip as up till now we have been mainly in the south where olive oil rules. 

Pork with a balsamic reduction on a bed of rocket, the meat was so tender, this was served with zucchini and eggplant that had a light dusting of bread crumbs and baked.

A nice local red made on the farm to go with the pork and a game of cards afterwards.

Great day and a great night was had … made a friend with the guy who was washing up and had a great chat, it is amazing how much more we are having younger people talking english than when we were here in the country farm 

stays of 7 years ago.
