It’s our last night looking over the Adriatic Sea for this section of our Italian trip. Where-else would we prefer to be then up at the Coast Hotels roof top bar for a few drinks and our last dinner.
We have loved staying here and give them a 9.99 out of 10.
The beautiful cool and funky room with brunch till 1pm.
An actual working air conditioner!!
Drains in the shower and basin that do drain, so you didn't need your 1970’s platform shoes to have a shower and
stand in god only knows what!
More than 2 coat hangers.
A shelf in the bathroom.
A hook in the bathroom.
Somewhere to put your suite case other than on the floor!
More than a bit of air and two feathers in a pillow case
as a pillow!
(This is why we packed our own pillows)
Pillow and mattress protectors!!!!!!
A mattress that was purchased this decade!
An elevator that worked and didn't hold my Sandy hostage!
A chair and a desk in your room.
Somewhere to hang a hat or a coat.
A tiled floor that actually got vacuumed and washed every day.
An adult toilet higher than the ones I had at kindergarten.
Bedside lights that you can read under.
But still “NO GAUSES” on the doors or windows.
Hence the 9.99 score.
The service from all the staff here has been just fabulous.
From the gardener, come valet who loved my Crocodile Dundee hat and who will NEVER go to Australia as everything down there wants to eat you!!!!
To the reception staff, the African, Indonesian and Indian house keepers were so kind.
The pool attendant/lifesaver with his very buffed body under a white tea shirt, who … whenever a beautiful young lady came anywhere near the pool he suddenly got very hot and had to use the exposed pool shower to cool off all the while looking like he was in a wet tea shirt competition just in case she was watching. ๐
To our bar boys who have all been so helpful, interactive and full of so many Italian stories and with fun translations!
The first night we said to compliment the chef and his response was “I will expose everything to the chef”!!!!
To which I thought perhaps not ๐
They all just knew when to be there and when not!
Our waiter Gabrielle holding our desert said that
“this is his job to be nice to guest”!
Hmmmm … we said to him, their is nice and polite as a job requires, but to also be kind and considerate is not always
a trait found in hospitality.
gamberetto from the mare, uovo from the pesce.
With Japanese inspired flavours sitting on riso.
We just had to have the scampi and scollop pasta that
one last time!
Even Giulietta needed a ice bath after yet another super
hot day by the sea.
So tonight we are sharing a desert of Soffio di Oriental … and this is how that translated!
Was relieved to see it was on a plate, and not served
behind closed doors ๐
So as the another sun sets over the Italian umbrella pines,
you get to see how much of the street lighting they actually
keep in, we are left with a very black view over this for us a
wonderfull little beach side town.
Quite simply amazing.

ReplyDeleteI have to ask the question ........ Whenever one goes to a swanky restaurant, they give you next to nothing on an enormous plate. To me, this is ridiculous as it highlights how little food you're actually getting for the inflated price you're paying. So my question is, what boofhead decided this is a great idea? If you're going to put next to nothing on the plate, use a small plate. Is this not sensible?
