Coast Hotel - Milano Marittima - Old Town Cervia

They say the new town where we are staying is about 70 years old and was created after the war as a beach side holiday location, so when you venture over the cannel you come across the old town of Cervia with so much history as a fishing port.

The light house a reference point for the fisherman from the beginning of last century, leaning somewhat toward the canal.

The cool, polished granite floored colonnades in front of the shops with curtain swaying in the breeze, still today is a thriving area … well after the Italian siesta that is!

The main square where people still live above the colonnaded shops.

Walking past historic old buildings which in the past supported the fishing industry and today are a great reminder of that hard working era.

Saw this lady just sitting quietly so I had to grab this picture of every day life in the old town of Cervia away from
all the tourists and beaches
with their millions of umbrella's and sun lounges!
