Well today tuesday we celebrate Gail's 60th birthday.... So as we are on a Norwegian ship, in the Mediterranean, owned by Americans, what would be more fitting then listening to a New Orleans Jazz band at a French restaurant having brunch, while drinking Italian bubbles (from Villa Sandi no less.) The trombone player paying Happy birthday to some one else we of course joined in and sang it to you Gail! Hope you had a great day of celebrations.
In the coming weeks we need to celebrate for Yvonne, Doug, Cathy, Richard and Susan so we will have to find the appropriate spots!
Great commentary Pete keep up the good work. Sounds like your having a wonderful time. Sooooooooooo jealous!!!
ReplyDeleteIndeed, sooooo jealous but soooooo happy you are having a great time. My birthday was really very enjoyable, in fact it went on for days and days. Lots of highlights; a lovely day with the family out at Katrina and Justin's place last Saturday; a complete day of pampering on Monday (massage + facial + pedicure + manicure = bliss) getting ready for the big day. Then the big day finally arrived! And spoilt right from the start - coffee in bed whilst opening pressies then off to the gym and more coffee with 'the girls' ( haven't been able to do that for two years) which was so nice. Then off to Cafe Sydney for a long lunch with James and Janice. The first person I saw when we arrived was Charles! That was his first outing since 14th Feb and was a big effort to get there - he is down to 58 kg - let's hope he is finally on the mend. Anyway, lunch was fabulous - the food, the company and then there was the view, if you know what I mean. Later that evening we went over to Pip and Ray' for dinner and Pam and John were there too which was a bit of a surprise but all good. Sadly I had to go back to work on Wednesday but was only there for an hour when flowers were delivered - the biggest basket of flowers I have ever seen (from 'my friends at EMC). Sandy, you would just love it; all purple and white. Then in the afternoon half the company turned up for birthday cake - unbelievable. Still not sure how everyone knew it was my birthday. Anyway, they all made me feel very special. Went to the Opera House on Thursday night for an amazing performance by the Australian Ballet; still musing over just how good the programme was. And, just to round the week off, we went out for drinkies and dinner after work on Friday. I so needed a sleep-in this morning - LOL! We are watching the first stage of Giro d'Italia at the moment. They are in Naples; just wondering how far away you are. Apparently it is 30 degrees! Have been keeping an eye out for you on Skype !?! Love and hugs xx
