Tonight Sandy is cooking in our tree house, having a night in and we are both hanging for a bit of spicy food and some veggies. It is pouring with rain and I think its safer for the other drivers if I don't head out in the dark on slippery roads.
So with some chicken and veggies that we got today it's a Thai Red Curry Chicken Italian style of course. Well Sandy did bring some little cans of curry paste just incase we were in need of some spicy food with here but to find fish sauce or coconut milk in Italy that has been a bit of a fun challenge. Loving the Italian food but vegies are not a big part of a staple diet in Italy. Well the coconut milk we did find in Venice so thought we should get that in readiness but at 4.80 € for a small 100 ml there must have to be some very rich Thai people living in Venice. But as for the fish sauce well that's a different matter it's not an ingredient really available in Italy so as it is a big part of the Thai flavour of the red curry we will just have to adapt. So pray tell my dear Sandy how will that adaption happen stuck up here in a tree house on a very wet night. So with a smile and a bottle of unsalted soya sauce and a few anchovies my lesson begins.... blended together and you have Italian Fish Sauce......
It was good! Real good, you may be on a winner with that.....
So the table is set and with a very spicy hit 2 little tummies are happy very happy.... and the rain continues outside.
