A walk around Loch Lomond

well maybe just a wee walk as Loch Lomond is 36 km long and between 1 up to 8 km wide, total surface area of 71 km2 making it the largest inland stretch of water in Great Britain by surface area.
Loch Ness is smaller but is the loch with the most water and the deepest as it needs deep waters for the "Big Nessie Monster".

Back from the birds eye view of Loch Lomond and on to todays walk. Time is running out for me walking in Scotland as tomorrow its back to the kitchens and our last cooking experience in Scotland.
Quiet little bay to sit and listen to the water lapping and the summer breezes in the trees
Near the quaint wee town of Balloch, where we spent the night.
Castles everywhere this is a unoccupied one with magic views over the loch... pick me I'll live in (over the summer) and look after her.
as long as it come with the several council men that it must take to keep the lawns cut!
The ancient trees that past generations planted, wonder who they were?
The entrance to the walled garden now looked after by local council.
Today the walled gardens is all about flowers as the castle is no longer in need for the productive garden that was here in its day.
Sandy doing her early morning stretches.
Busy Big Bees!
Not often does this Aussie get to see green grass let alone feel it.
It was soooooo soft.
Off into the woods we go

Deeper in to the planted forests

Stunning roots.

The red maples of summer are on fire.
New summer shoots on the holly.
so after a long days walking nothing better than a local brew
West coast Scottish Scallops, black pudding, Aberdeenshire bacon and the minty-ist pea mash.
