Deal or No Deal

So Sandy's in the kitchen with the cooks starting to prepare dinner from the fresh mushrooms we got this afternoon so I step out into the family restaurant with the huge TV playing as I can hear a lot loud Italians voices.

So just like back home it's an Italian version of deal or no deal.... Done on a budget.
Sure they had all the people standing in a line with their case in front of them but when they opened them that looked like cardboard boxes and with € values inside that appeared to be printed on a bubble jet printer and sticky taped to the underside of the lids.

They did have a lovely selection of glamours ladies with large gold horse shoes that they would place over the contestant to help her with luck.
The set was with a food and regional theme with a map of Italy displayed in bold colours behind her and from where all the other player maybe came from.
Some questions on food I could work out and then some thinking time was allowed before she could answer so the horse shoes would come in and be place again over her head.
Tonight contestant looked live a Italian version of Pretty Woman with a huge smile and mountains of amazing white teeth. Not sure if it was celebrity night or all the Italian contestants are that beautiful, but as we leave tomorrow I may never find that out.

In true deal or no deal form all was going so well, pretty woman got rid of all the small € amounts, deals of €30,000 then € 70,000 but it's still a no deal from pretty woman. Than higher and higher the deals became but that € 250,000 was still in play. The audience and I on the edge of our seats the last deal pretty woman is up to €125,000 and says NO. Girlfriend are you crazy don't you know how this show works, one more No Deal and it's down to the final 2 boxes hers and a guy from Lombardia. The tension in the room is intense and I not able to speak Italian can feel the tension also.
Then with the Big Horse Shoe hovering over head head it's time to open the cases.

WHAT DID I SAY girlfriend take the €125,000 but no ... don't listen ...
So when Mr Tuscany open his box to reveal the € 250,000 and with a look of horror she open her € 30,000 !!!!!
But in true Pretty Woman style and with a smile that fills the screen she convinces Mr Deal Or No Deal that it is ok and she is SUPER happy with having the € 30,000.

Hmmmm all I can say a bird in the hand of € 125,000 .... $200,000 Aussie I would have deal out much earlier.
