The Smallest Village in Italy ?

Well at least the smallest village that we have stayed in. It dates back to the early 1700 and on top of a hill ( AGAIN ) .... Top of a hill and NARROW roads to get there
( OF COURSE )
But it was sooooo worth it, it was just sooooo cute and consists of only a few little stone building all connected together with a central stone court yard. Red geraniums in window boxes and the stone walls were 3 stories high with moss covered slate stone roofs. The ceiling in our section was low and the doorways even lower so I spent most of my time bowing and getting from place to place. We had the cutest little bedroom with a old 4 poster feather bed. It was like being a your grandmother house. We had a little kitchen with a small window that over looked the fields far below and a front door and window that led to the courtyard. It was just toooooo cute and tonight the village will have a total population of 4 ... us and the owners.

Tonight we also cooking class with the owners and did Carbonara, hmmmm it was OK ....
So it will go into the book of "how not to cook".
Don't get me wrong ... it tasted ok but he over cooked it at the egg point so it was a mouth texture more of scrambled eggs and not a creamy eggy sauce. I'm getting to be a bit of an Italian food critic.

But maybe thats the way they like it up here in the mountains. It was still such a great night of cooking and eating in an amazing little village and thankfully we all cooked other things and told them we were getting full by the time the Carbonara arrived !!!! These two little Italian food critic don't want too offend the rest of the population or we may have been run out of town!!!!
