So after we have settled in we decide to head out to see what we can find, the footpaths are all marble so smooth and great to walk on and some like in Bologna are under cover colonnades towering 2 stories above.
Well what a different world we have come back out into, a hive of activity, the smoggy dirty grey roller shutter have all be open back up and siesta is over for another day so the shutters are up and the neon lights and the colourfull shop all gleaming bright with products to sell in the afternoon sunlight tell a story of many businesses back open again. It is the same Italy over well except for say Venice and some tourist places they have their long lunches and a bit of a nap, how civilised..... The retail shops open at 7am till 12 then from open from about 2 or 3pm when they slowly start to reappear for trade till about 8 pm, kids go home for lunch and Italy just slows down. Than after 8pm the whole Italian social night life start to happen with most restaurants not opened much before that anyway. Sure you can get feed before that but it much more Italian and cooler to eat late and watch the Italian world playing and just slipping by
