Or last day in Europe

so let's head back to the trendy Nyhavn end of Copenhagen town to see if we can find some inspiring food that is hopefully Danish and
hopefully not just a Smorrbrod "that famous open sandwich".

Don't get me wrong a sandwich and a good one has it's place.
We have had the average and then we had the
Yummy Salmon and Roe.

It is difficult with over 3000 restaurants in Copenhagen mostly only serving a wide array of these traditional so call food treats!

I don't what our last European meal to be just a sandwich!!!
Your a food snob Pete, Nhoooo! We are always looking for good tasty food that can inspire us for our new food direction and classes
@ The Retreat.

So lets head back to the Sea.

This is where we had the Salmon and Roe smorrebrod and we couldn't help notice the amazing plating of interesting dishes walking out from the kitchen past us the other day.
They had a Thai chef and some Thai dishes but they didn't sound that different on the menu, words can be deceiving!

"Scallops in buttered miso bullion with fermented kimchee"
Fabulous flavours with a great hit of chilly.

"Frozen Red Curry with Lobster"

Interesting name on the menu and when it arrived it is as you can see a red curry ice cream.
The flavour bomb with the lobster, modern plating and stunning flavours, served on a frozen water filled plate.
Now we are talking some real food ... if not Danish!

 Interesting the
"Tom Yam soup ( and for my Thai friends not Tom Yum) based on lemon grass and galangal with three small bites"
was stunning, more like a lobster consommé with a hint of Thai flavours and you made your own soft noodles, so a fun plating

The three bites were just that, tasty small bites, a play on a fish cake, prawn toast and a seafood bite with a wasabi mayo.

":Foamy lime with Thai basil and salty merengue"

Fantastic location

With some great Thai/Vietnam wall art

In Copenhagen and what a fantastic, modern and flavourful meal as our last supper in Europe.
All I can say is with the prices of a sandwich here that I don't even what to know what lunch cost!!!
