After only a few days in japan I’m still trying to get as many Japanese food experiences as possible, so todays’ lunch on our 12-hour flight to England will be just that … from the Japanese menu.
The Starters a red shrimp … so sweet, grilled tofu with Kinome Miso, this was on the bottom left with the green miso paste and sesame seeds (so now I need to find out what Kinome is) because whatever it is when mixed with Miso is a winning herbie flavour.
Bottom right an egg roll with pickled cutlass fish and Burdock (this must be the season for Burdock as I have had it several times) the yellow round under the prawn is a paste of prawn & sayori.
To the top right was a marinated smoked brim with pickled veggies and the top left was my pick of the day was not mentioned on the menu so they had to bring in the expert so it was a firm pate of smoked fish and miso vegetables just all of yum O
yummo, did you smoke that leaf when you'd finnished
