Italian Truffle ... no its a Moroccan Desert Truffle

 Thought I had won the lottery when I noticed Truffle's in the markets in huge quantities and at such a cheep price.

Thought I would get several boxes and take them to Italy to fund the remainder of our travels and maybe buy a villa on the coast of Sardinia !!!


But alias these are Moroccan Desert Truffles that grow in the arid  desert sand in crevices after rain. They have non of the alluring hypnotic smells like an Italian Truffle.

 

They do have a mushroom smell and taste! But the arid desert sand well let's just say in does get in to all crevices.
So as long as you gum your food it may be OK!
So dam gritty.  

 I will just have to work out some other way the get that villa on the coast of Sardinia.
